Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

    Good afternoon all.

After we consulted with many of you towards the end of last year, it emerged that what mattered to you the most was Anti Social Behaviour, Road Safety and Burglaries.

Year to date on the Bosworth area, we have had 3 domestic burglaries reported. Only one of those (Groby) remains 'unsolved'. It involved a male removing a pane of glass in the early hours before making off on a cycle.

The up to date feedback we are receiving from the public at the moment is around a fear of dogs being stolen.

Recent social media attention has been around a foreign registered van in suspicious circumstances in Desford, and other areas are reporting cable ties on lamp posts could be a marker of target properties and a pre-cursor to thefts.

We would like to reassure you that there currently is no greater threat than normal around dog thefts. Yes - occasionally, and sadly it does happen but there is no intelligence or evidence to suggest that this is happening more regularly.

Please consider a doorbell camera which can be an excellent deterrent and a way to capture evidence.

When reporting suspicious vehicles to police - please try and obtain the full registration, and if safe to do so - try and obtain a photo of the vehicle or suspects.

Do not advertise litters of puppies where your property can be identified and make sure your dog is secure when you're not around.

As ever - we welcome feedback on the content of the messages we send - the Neighbourhood Link system will only be effective if the messages we send are relevant.

    Thank you.
