We hope you are keeping well. Thank you as always for the ratings and kind comments we receive in response to these messages.

Update for this week in Burbage.

Theft from vehicle on Azalea drive overnight 13th Feb. The vehicles window was smashed and items including PPE, hi Vis jacket and boots were taken. This location on Azalea Drive is a private car park and has been targeted on a couple of occasions previously.

Please be mindful if you have to leave your vehicle away from your property, never leave anything in the vehicle, secure with an alarm and/or steering lock. If there are street lights available please use these to keep the vehicle in a well-lit area. You can also apply to LCC if you feel an area would benefit from increased street lighting.

Nitrous oxide. Areas include Brookfield Road and Sketchley Grange hotel area. We are continuing to target areas where these canisters are found as part of our targeted patrols. If you have any registration details of vehicles involved please pass them on to us.

Keys found (pic) on Britannia road Park and still no claimants for the Wooley hat get in touch if they are yours.

Following last week’s competition, we have delivered the prizes to the winners. Well done to them. If you didn’t win, sorry but we really hope you enjoy this service and remember to get in touch if you want to see anything different.

Work done around parking/traffic complaints including Sketchley Road, Forresters Road, Holly Close. We try to work with local business and schools to implement solutions.
We also have visited locations to challenge behaviour. Work is ongoing to improve the areas.

Wide load cancelled that was due to pass through village. This is being planned in for the end of the month so i will update nearer the time.

We have also spent time this week completing visits to resolve neighbour disputes and completed work with HBBC and other partners to challenge Anti-Social Behaviour and find resolutions during these difficult times for issues and concerns raised by residents.

Vehicles recovered for reasons of no insurance, tax, MOT. Stop checks completed and appropriate action taken in line with the current Covid guidelines.

Leicestershire Police campaign Fearless (please see attachment at bottom of Email) – the youth arm of the independent charity Crimestoppers – works to empower young people to speak up about crime. The website www.fearless.org allows young people to access non-judgemental information and advice about crime and criminality, and also offers a safe place to give information completely anonymously about crime.

Scam Alert from resident

“My husband just saw an Amazon pop up iPhone giveaway for Valentine's Day.
This appears to be a scam, so I don't trust it, especially as asking for personal and bank details.”

Please continue to be vigilant of door to door sales and rogue traders. Never agree to anything on the spot. Never hand over cash and speak to friends or family for advise.
