    #YouSaidWeDid

    Dear resident,
Firstly, may we take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year.
Furthermore, thank you for completing our recent survey about priorities for policing in your local area. We had an excellent response. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus on this beat. We will now provide a summary of these priorities and how we plan to tackle them in 2021:

    • You said - Anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Local police will continue to adopt a pro-active approach during their day to day activities and continue to patrol ASB hotspots on area. Towards the end of 2020 we noted a steady decline of ASB, partly relating to the ongoing Covid regulations in place. We will continue to work alongside the ASB department at Blaby District Council in addition to the relevant housing associations to provide a multi-agency approach to all matters raised.

    • You said - Road safety.
Local police will continue to build upon the good work completed in 2020, which focused on speeding vehicles, traffic congestion around peak school times and careless and inconsiderate parking noted in Countesthorpe. Plans are in place to complete two days of local action in the near future to address these issues and you will be updated once this has been completed.

    • You said – Drug taking and dealing.
Local officers have erected ‘police operation’ signs in hotspot areas of Countesthorpe to raise awareness to those considering the location for criminal activity. These locations will feature on the patrol strategy and be subject to increased patrols by local officers at key times throughout the week. In addition to this, through our Neighbourhood Offender Management scheme, we will continue to target those involved in drugs and looking for ways to change their lifestyle through various support mechanisms.

    • You said - Nuisance motorbikes.
We are fully aware of the historical issues with motorbikes in fields and parks locally. We are fully committed to this priority and are working alongside the ASB department at Blaby District Council to tackle this. S59 warning signs have been erected at key hotspot locations, allowing police to seize bikes immediately from anyone involved in this unwanted behaviour. Towards the end of 2020 this issue appeared to decline, with no reports received in the month of December.

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will continue to keep you up to date on our progress. You can also follow what we are doing at Blaby Police on Facebook and Twitter.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact or say hello when you see us on the street.
Of course, please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.

    Your beat officers,

PS Goldsmith, PC Wardle and PCSO Eastwood.
