New CCTV installed in the West End

Good afternoon everyone

We have often received requests from the community over the years regarding new CCTV cameras in the area. This is something that isn't always possible due to various factors and prioritising areas where they should be allocated etc.

But the Westcotes Ward has recently obtained x6 new CCTV Cameras for the ward and these are monitored by Leicester City Council CCTV control room. This is also accessible to Police at incidents or as part of investigations.

The cameras are situated in various locations across the ward and have been allocated these locations due to previous issues reported. Due to the cameras being new, they are actually movable to other locations if needed from a longer term perspective.

There are other CCTV cameras within the ward and these will remain in place, with the new cameras expanding coverage locally.
