Good Evening Members,

COVID-19 vaccine scam text messages

We have been made aware of some of scam messages circulated on social media and also via text messages

Fraudsters are taking advantage of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout by what appears to be a convincing text to steal people’s personal and financial information. The text would contain a link that would lead to a bogus NHS website with an application form to register to take the vaccine.

Please be aware that you can only get the corona virus vaccine through the NHS only and do not click on any of the links in the text messages

Others potential scams include criminals trying to sell you online items like face masks and hand sanitisers.

Please do not fall for a bogus text message saying they have been fined for stepping outside during the coronavirus lockdown. The scam message which claims to be from the Government, informing the recipient that their movement has been monitored through their phone and must pay a fine or face a more severe penalty.

Do not click on any links from this type of scam messages

Please share this with elderly & vulnerable as they would easily fall prey to these scams
