  • Oadby Priority Updates You Said we Did

    Alert message sent 30/12/2020 18:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

    Dear Members,

This is an update on our local priorities we have on the Oadby area. The three main priorities we currently have open that you said was 1. Burglary, 2. ASB and Nitrous Oxide use and 3 Drug Dealing/Taking.

    - Burglary

Your beat team along with help from our response officers have worked extremely hard to keep the Burglary numbers down. So far we can see a reduction which is great news but this does not mean that we will stop patrolling this area as we want to keep Burglary Down. There has been a number of arrests which is why we can now see a reduction. We want to thank everyone who has contacted us with information relating to suspicious activity. Please continue to remain vigilant and ensure that your security is always maintained.

    - ASB / Nitrous Oxide

We have conducted patrols and urge members to continue to call us with any information that will help us build intelligence and take positive action against people doing this. We have spoken to a number of people and given them advice and education about the dangers. Your local team placed warning signs in the areas where it happens most. This priority will remain open until we can evidence a reduction so please continue to report this.

    - Drug Dealing / Taking

There appears to be a reduction for this priority around our area. This is something that we take seriously to reduce illegal drug taking/dealing. We want members to be confident and call us with intelligence involving ‘Cuckooing’ and ‘County Lines’. We urge members to help our communities by #knowthesigns. County Lines drug dealers take over the homes of vulnerable people and criminally exploiting them to sell drugs. This is known as Cuckooing. Gangs and organised crime networks exploit children and vulnerable people to sell drugs. This is known as County Lines. At this stage we will leave this priority open once we have fully reviewed this for the next update.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns could I please ask that you reply to this message and answer the following questions in reply which is listed below:

    1. What is good about the local area where you live? (in around five key words)
    2. What are the issues affecting you in your community which you would like the Police to be aware of?
    3. Are there any other issues affecting you or your community which would benefit from working with or reporting to partner agencies such as the Council?

Please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.
