Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello. Thank you for being part of Burbage Neighbourhood Link https://www.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk/

Here is an update of Police activity and incidents in the area over the Christmas week in Burbage.

We hope you have had a peaceful Christmas. Crime for Burbage over the last week has been very good (touch wood). There have been no reports of stolen vehicles or residential burglary.

We have received a report of a handbag going missing whilst a resident was putting items in a vehicle. A handbag, Bank cards and wallet were taken from the area of Flanders Close. It is believed the incident happened around 21:30 on 23rd December. Please remember to keep your valuables in sight at all times. Always notify your bank immediately if your bank cards are lost or stolen. Many banks also let you cancel or “put a hold” on cards online.

We also received a report of a suspicious male on Rugby Road messing with doors on 25th December at around 14:00. We attended the location and checked the area. No one was identified and no damage was reported by residents. The suspicious person may have been disturbed/spooked and left the area or sometimes reports like this may not be as reported but thanks to the person reporting anyway, you never know. Remember to report suspicious activity to 101 immediately.

If you smell drugs from an address please contact us with as much information as possible. The smell of drugs, constant visitors, dealing or growing drugs can have a huge impact on the local community, as this type of behaviour can be disturbing and upsetting to local residents young and old. Please call 101 or you can report online anonymously to  https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously if you suspect this type of activity is happening by you.

    You said, we did

Part of the Neighbourhood Link service is to give you the ability to complete surveys to tell us what you like about Burbage and to tell us what concerns you have. Your feedback helps us identify particular areas of focus on this beat.

If you would like to complete surveys and give us your view, simply click on Log in at the bottom of this Email, under what to do next click on Your Interests, under research/public consultation tick Surveys and then save community interests. The more people that complete surveys the better picture we get of what issues our residents are concerned about.

OR anyone can complete this survey via this link

    https://www.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk/YourViews

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will continue to keep you up to date on our progress. It would be fantastic for as many residents as possible to fill in the survey as it gives us real information as to what concerns you have in your area. We can work with partner agencies, decide locations for speed gun activities and increase patrols to target concerns based on your feedback.

You may have noticed some strange letters on the last message I sent out. I have discovered this is due to Neighbourhood Link not liking “Emoji’s”. I tried to send some festive images. Never mind. They also look like this if you reply to me with an Emoji.

    Thank you and take care.
