    #YouSaidWeDid

    Dear resident,

Thank you for completing our recent survey about priorities for policing in your local area. We had an excellent response. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus on this beat. They are:

    • You said - Anti-social behaviour (ASB).
We did - Local officers have been patrolling various locations considered ASB hotspots, including the local parks where previously rowdy behaviour has been reported and fires lit close to play equipment. These patrols have been conducted following your concerns and also to provide some additional reassurance regarding the Covid rules and regulations. The vast majority of individuals have been behaving themselves and there is nothing significant to report at this time. These patrols will continue to take place into November.

    • You said - Road safety.
We did – Local officers have been made aware of numerous occasions where careless/ inconsiderate parking has taken place in and around Countesthorpe. Please ensure that when you are parking your vehicle that you are mindful of others and do not cause any obstruction to the pavement or resident’s driveways. Several individuals have been suitably advised but further enforcement will be considered if issues persist.
Local police have also been working with the local parish council to tackle the issues in Kilby of speeding and overweight heavy goods vehicles on the roads. PC Wardle is in the process of contacting local haulage companies to raise the issue and offer suitable guidance/ advice.

    • You said – Drug taking and dealing.
We did – Local officers have erected ‘police operation’ signs in hotspot areas of Countesthorpe to raise awareness to those considering the location for criminal activity. These locations will feature on the patrol strategy and be subject to increased patrols by local officers at key times throughout the week.
Following a recent arrest for an unrelated matter in Countesthorpe, officers from our investigation team discovered several occupants in the property to be in possession of cannabis. All involved were positively dealt with through out of court disposals and local police will continue to monitor this address and persons of interest in order to develop a bigger information and intelligence picture.

    • You said - Nuisance motorbikes.
We did – Local officers are well aware of the ongoing issue with motorbikes in fields and parks in the locality. A master report has been generated to document these incidents and the beat team are working closely with the ASB team at Blaby District Council to reduce this issue and identify those responsible.
S59 warning signs are in the process of being erected at key hotspot locations, allowing police to seize bikes immediately from anyone involved in this unwanted behaviour. Patrols throughout October have been positive with no recent issues to report.

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will continue to keep you up to date on our progress. You can also follow what we are doing at Blaby Police on Facebook and Twitter.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact or say hello when you see us on the street. Our next surgery/ event is at the Rainbow Shop, Countesthorpe on 22/10/20 between 1100-1200 hours and we would very much like to see you there.
Of course, please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.

    Your beat officers,

PS Goldsmith, PC Wardle, PCSO Eastwood.
