Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

    Dear Resident,

Thank you to those of you who have recently completed a Neighbourhood Link Survey about priorities in your local area. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus for the beat, these are:

    Priority One: Robberies/Knife Crime.
    Priority Two: Anti-social behaviour.
    Priority Three: Drug Taking/Use.

With regards to Priority One; proactive targeted foot patrols have been carried out around the Bede Park area in recent weeks. In these patrols, police have exercised their Stop Search Powers and Powers of Arrest on a number of occasions in relation to knife offences. These patrols are ongoing and positive results will be shared with yourselves periodically.

For Priority Two; local officers are continuing to work with Leicester City Council and other partner agencies regarding problem addresses causing regular Anti-Social behaviour in the local area. A full closure order has recently been served by the council for a property on Andrewes Street with the assistance of the local beat team, due to the level of ASB from this address. Your local beat team will continue to work in partnership with the council to take appropriate action against any persons / properties causing ASB in the area.

For Priority Three; police continue to actively disrupt drug taking and dealing in specific areas within your local area. This includes stop-checking and searching of any suspicious vehicles/persons. Help and assistance is regularly offered to habitual drug users, who are referred to organisations such as Turning Point to assist with their issues. This disruption regarding drug taking/dealing largely relies on reports and information from the general public; and so please continue to inform police of any drug misuse in your local area.

We will endeavour to keep you updated around these priorities wherever possible. For more regular updates please follow our Facebook page; “Fosse and the West End Police”.

If you have any further issues/concerns about our local area, please do let us know either by reporting through 101 or online at www.leics.police.uk. If you see an officer out in your local area, feel free to stop them and talk to them about any concerns you may have.

For more urgent issues, as always please call 999.

    Thank you for your support,
