    Your local priorities: Survey results

    Dear resident,

Thank you for completing our recent survey about priorities for policing in your local area. We had an excellent response. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus on this beat. They are:

    • Priority 1: Anti-social behaviour (ASB).
    • Priority 2: Vehicle crime.
    • Priority 3: Road safety.
    • Priority 4: Nuisance motorbikes.

In order to address priority 1, we have reviewed our ASB hotspots and will be visiting them on a regular basis, engaging with individuals present and deterring them from any form of anti-social behaviour. This information will be shared with our ASB colleagues at Blaby District Council should further intervention be required.

Priority 2 is also important. We have decided to address this through various proactive methods. This includes targeting those who cause us most harm, crime analysis and patrolling areas identified as hotspots, providing useful messages via our social media channels and utilising our beat engagement events to educate residents and offer free crime prevention equipment such as tamper proof number plate screws.

For priority 3, we have identified road safety issues, including traffic around key school times and speeding issues at certain locations. Our volunteers and special officers are assisting with pre planned speeding operations and local officers will be patrolling during drop off/ pick up school times.

Finally, priority 4. Nuisance motorbikes links in nicely with priority 1 and 2 and local officers are aware. Local parks and other green space will be patrolled and any incidents will be dealt with robustly, utilising ASB and traffic legislation, where applicable, to drive down this issue.

What you have told us has helped shape our priorities for this beat. My colleagues and I will keep you up to date on our progress. You can also follow what we are doing at Blaby Police on Facebook and Twitter.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to get in contact or say hello when you see us on the street. Our next surgery/ event is at The Co-op, Dog and Gun Lane, Whetstone on 14/10/20 between 1200-1300 hours and we would very much like to see you there.

Of course, please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.

    Your beat officers,

PS Goldsmith, PC Uppal, PCSO Malik and PCSO Stevenson.
